The Smokers Club - Method Man & Redman Review

The Smokers Club Tour hit Maryland and left the place in shambles. Headliners Method Man and Redman performed on stage at the Fillmore, Silver Spring. When the duo came on stage, they addressed the anxious crowd with one simple question “What should you never forget to bring to a Redman and Method Man show?” Of course being that this was the Smokers Club Tour you could only guess correctly what the responses of the crowd were. As smoke and “Wu” signs went up, Meth and Red threw down the hits one after the other.

It was no surprise to me that Method Man and Redman rocked the crowd because they are authentic MCs and natural entertainers and if you've been following them since the beginning of their careers you’d notice that they still possess the same passion for the art of music and performance. Their performance was the true definition of Hip-Hop [To be hip is to know, and hop is the movement.] These two know how powerful they are performing as a pair, their vibe and energy was contagious as they bounced around on stage gearing up for that moment which we were all waiting for came, the “How High” high level energy pair spat their lines in “Da Rockwilder,” setting the entire place ablaze as they both dived into the audience.

Method Man and Redman performed some of their iconic hits such as ‘Execute them’, ‘Bring the Pain’ and ‘You’re all I Need’. B-Real opened up the show and performed a number of hits including his iconic ‘Hits from the Bong'. Berner and Mick Jenkins also rocked the crowd. The DMV has been waiting long enough for a Hip-Hop event like this and the Fillmore could not have been a more perfect host!

The headliners lingered around, as they greeted fans and signed autographs
